DYCP Funding for a New Explorations

I was over the moon to receive Arts Council funding for a new project of artwork I want to explore.

Prior to covid I had started to dabble in creating films with expired 16mm stock, using organic materials to develop and erode the film stock. I was left wanting more and as I played with these images I realised I needed to learn new skills, and techniques. How to use a 16mm bolex camera, create double exposures, explore how these can link to my paintings.

Exploring Circadian Rhythms & Light

My background is in the set design for the theatre, modern ballet especially. So I’ve been wanting to create more immersive environments for the audience to walk through and experience in a completely different way. Sound is something I wanted to play with, so it made the audience engage with more of their senses. Our lives are so frenetic that I’m wanting to create work that makes the audience slow down and rediscover the art of looking and listening.
