Jude is inspired and fascinated by nature, recalling places experienced as the work evolves, creating from a place of no time, no space. “Each artwork is in itself, it’s own landscape taking the viewer on a journey of recalled memories or into the future.”
“My work explores themes of memory, time, trauma, and our emotional connection to landscape, often shaped by personal experiences & broader socio-political concerns such as climate change, water, migration & loss. In recent years, I have expanded beyond traditional painting into abstraction, experimental film, and recently sound.”
Experimenting with 16mm film exposed to natural elements and creating integrated soundscapes recorded in the environment to craft multi-sensory narratives; Jude now wants to go deeper in this field. Collaboration plays a central role across her work, working across the arts with musicians, poets & editors to deepen the reach and complexity of her practice.

New work created for the sėntinėl show, are based on the landscape and how we are no longer in tune to the vibrations and murmurs of the land and nature around us. For the last nine months I have been creating sound scapes and organic films on expired 16mm film. Allowing the images to be created organically in a contained chaos, of their own worlds. I have created an installation from stills of the films transferred onto transparent acrylic panels suspended for us to walk through and engage with the start and end of life.
Artist Statement – Vibrations of Resilience
My practice explores the interplay between natural systems, human intervention, and the cycles of regeneration within post-industrial landscapes. Vibrations of Resilience brings together moving image, sound, and suspended analogue images to create an immersive environment that encourages viewers to slow down, observe, and reflect on the subtle rhythms of the natural world.
Using expired and found film, hand-processed and printed onto translucent panels, I examine the fragility and resilience of life, capturing forms and patterns that are often invisible to the naked eye. Field recordings from forests, waterways, and reclaimed industrial sites expand this exploration into sound, revealing the hidden ecosystems and interconnected energies that sustain these landscapes.
The work invites audiences to consider both the impact humans have had on these environments and the ways nature reclaims and regenerates once-exploited land. Through scale, colour, and layered sensory experience, the installation encourages reflection on memory, environmental change, and the delicate balance between fragility and resilience in the natural world.
